Take it off when you're not using it.

Could you shorten up my name a bit?

Marbles Tang rear sight.

Is the front barrel band also available from Henry, or is that a custom deal taken off a Winchester?

Well I'll tell you what, when I see some thing, I make it. I saw a lever leather job on youtube one time and said "When I get a lever gun, I'm gona do that to mine." And for stock, I saw kinda the same thing in a catalog and said "When I get a lever gun, I'm gona do that to mine."

I will try tell you the best I can how I did it.
First I raped the leather around the stock and cut it the way I liked it. You have to strech the leather to the stock and then cut it. You might have to do this acuple of times. Leave a quor ter of an inch space.

Then I found a hole punch and made the holes. You can see thay are all strate with each other.

Then I made strips of leather for the string.
Thead the leather real tite like.

Now for the cruve of the butt plate.
Just mark the cruve on leather with a pensil and cut it. Cut it so there is about 5 mm of the stock shoing.
You can see the cruve.

Then punch holes same as before.

How for the peace that goes on the butt plate.
Just cut it to the shape of the punch holes acordingly. leave a little tab at the top to tuck under the top of the main leather.

Cut another leather strip and lace it all up.

And if all goes well, it will look good.

For the lever, you'l have figur out on your one.

Well I hope you all are happy cuz during the photo shoot, I dent'ed my stock.

BB-gun

No! Go to the air gun forum. Just kidding, why not?

I have been able to go to shoe repair stores (real ones) in the past and get strap leather. Another place is check around the Western tack stores and find someone who builds or repairs saddles. They will have a line on where to get leather. And there is always GOOGLE when all else fails.

The front barrel band, front sight combination is available from Henry. You just call and ask them for what you want. I think they are $10 each. They come painted black. Strip, smooth and polish easily. Then are ready to color with cold blue.

Good Luck on yours.
It will be unique.
