If you use your head, it does not have to be that bad. Minus the Nordic itself, I only spent around 175.00 on furniture. It all depends on the "look" you are trying to achieve. For sure, my spending is not over.

I was looking around online yesterday and found that gunkings.com has an m4 handguard pre-attached to a barrel. They call it the commando barrel and is very expensive. It's around $256.00. Oh, craiso what kind of barrel is your rifle if you dont mind me asking?

P.S- It's for the nordic kit only!

Keep on gunning.

The reason the bbl & handguard from gunkings is so expensive is the labor they put into it. the bbl is designed to use an M4 front sight and rear sight (on the flat top of the Nordic). the design of the nordic didn't allow for these to line up, so Jim & Co. machine a stock 10/22 tapered bbl, weld on a collar to take the place of the gas block (i believe) which allows for the sights to line up. i think i recall him saying at some point that they would give you a credit if you sent them your old bbl as a swap.

I finally got around to taking the last Glamour Shots of my AR22. I am only going to post a couple of resized images because they are all very hi res and it would overwhelm this thread.

LOTS more pics and build info here:

Well, I'm new here. The Nordic kit kindled an interest I didn't know I had!

Here's mine -grateful for any tips on how you fellows are cleaning your actions -are you dismantling the whole kit to get the 10-22 out each time?

Trident,
Thanks for the kind comments! It really is the most ridiculously fun-handling rifle I've ever owned; but I'm sorry to say the answers to your questions are rather boring: The most expensive item in the photo is the nordic kit itself -which costs around $400 in the UK (!)
The barrel is just a standard factory stainless with the front sight removed (we can get them supplied Ruger factory threaded for suppressors in UK -don't know if the same is available in the States). The forend is the result of a decision (once I'd fully locked my brain onto the fact that this is just a 10/22and not a 'battle' rifle!) to take a chance on ordering an airsoft copy from Hong Kong. Long story short; it fits, it's metal, robust and solid (well, certainly robust enough for a 10/22!); and it only cost 19 (US$40)! (it's also a scarily good copy.)

Can't bring a good rimfire down!

Brown dog Ballsey, YES... but %%%% i like ur moves on that one pal! Thats what here across the ole' pond we call a POWER buy bud! But u poor UK guys love the rimfires as whole way more the americans in my opinion: partly due to the determining pinko making gun policy laws at the given time in each of our app. homes, but the UK loves to act like the ole' rimfire has a killa' mentality like ole' jacky the ripper in your neck of woods and manson over here, lil did they know that in both countries u CAN'T keep a diehard rimfire fan from exploiting his love by simple using there pinko taxes on firearms to drive prices where we cant afford, cause bottom line sometimes the house the wife and the mini van must yield to the BANG BANG of a freshly iced out Nordic! I amend u UK fellows for %%%% near second mortaging your home, so that the FATcats can have a bite and u can have your ohhhhhhhh so scary rimfire! So to me your nordicbuild my friend is not dissappointing but rather a battle cry to all those who cant be stopped in pursuit of the rimmy. Your build is more of a Homer's The Odyssey rather just another build given the modern mind field of buercratic bull crap to own a simple rimfire. SALUTE!

So here is a pic that a friend of mine sent me from Texas, seems they have lots of pig's down there. He has a part time job, in that he takes care of the overwhelming pig populations in urban areas. The follow is what he wrote to me and sent:

"Tim, the accurate application of 40grs at subsonic velocities does wonders.
He weighed about 190# and was shot at 30yds."

OOPS...just read the rules.....sorry...had to take the picture of a 190# dead pig off but you can see it at http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/i.../traprspig.jpg

If this was anyone else, I may not believe it...but this guy is one of the top 3 gun competitors in the nation and one heck of a shot.
