When that gun originally shipped if it came from new york it would have had a heavy shipping case, papers, test target , talley bases. A 17hmr does not move as fast as a 22r usually does in the sales department. If you really like the rifle make them an offer! Nothing ventured nothing gained!

REM 547 trigger

I have one in 17. I'd like to get the weight down to 1 lb. When I got it years back it was around 5lbs. I think I'm at 3lbs. I don't think anyone makes an aftermarket trigger. Anyone get there's down to that weight?

547 F

This sticky sure is quiet these days !
Added a 22LR to my collection of 547s, now have one in each caliber. Latest is a Sturgis 547C with F grade wood, rosewood grip and tip, hand-checkered and hand-rubbed oil finish. Will be sighting it in this afternoon.

Wow is all I can say! I know your pictures probably do not do the rifle justice. I know it will even look better up close. Awesome wood on that rifle.

Doing well with Lapua Center-X, image is of four 5 shot groups at 50 yards, all but the top group is under 1/2" center-to-center. Doesn't like Eley Match or Tenex at all, Midas + was just OK. Got a new carton of R50 to try next.

Great to see you are shooting and enjoying your 547. I have really been neglecting to shoot the many fine rifles i own.Hopefully next year I will find more time.

My 547 Custom Target Has been at the Rem Custom Shop for repair for 2 months.
A new case of Win T22 bricked the rifle after 3 rnds.
Broke the ejector. Had to finish my last match as a single shot, removing the magazine after each shot.
Old T22 case miked at 0.223, new miked at 0.224.
Winchester so far has refunded the cost of the case.
Repair bill will be sent to Winchester also.

Mine is still great fun!

Adjustments.jpg

Won’t eject CCI SV routinely. Oh well, she loves Eley Contact and Eley Match.
