Sorry ... fuzzy picture

Gorgeous stock, perfect shadow cheekpiece
Exactly what the 547 Custom needs to justify its price.

Is it possible to order a 547 with an up-graded stock.
Higher grade wood (more figure, water marks) with shadow cheek-piece?

Hey guys, if a .22lr groups 0.8" at 100yds, its a great shooter.

I have plenty of Anschutz rifles in .22lr and none of them shoot better than that (by me!).

Thank you for visiting Remington Country.
At this time we are not offering any upgrades to the wood on this model

547 Custom Shop Stock

I don't have a clue whether Remington
is sub-contracting the stock production for the 547.

But, as you may surmise, it maybe very probable
that Remington is out-sourcing their Custom Shop stocks.

But, if a sub-contractor is in play, do you think they'll sell to
me (you or anyone else) a genuine, Remington factory, stock?

And, if they did, do you think Remington would honor
the factory accuracy guarantee on a 547 with an aftermarket stock?

No.

Boyd's does not and will not sell 504/547 stocks - I know because I asked. Enough times that they quit talking to me. Hard to blame them since I can be a pest.

Remington: We have a Problem ... Conflicting Information

As some of you have noted, Remington is claiming two, somewhat, different accuracy standards for the 547:

547 Accuracy Remington will Honor: 50 Yard or 100 Yards

This is the Question I asked at the Remington Online Help Center:

A 547 press release http://www.remington.com/library/pre...ms/2008-10.asp
states an accuracy claim of less than 1 inch at 100 yards.

However, the 2008 catalog http://www.remington.com/pdfs/08cat/2008_rifles.pdf - page 24
states 5-shot group of 1/2 inch at fifty yards.

And, the on-line 547 website http://www.remington.com/products/fi...547_custom.asp
state 1/2" minimum group size at 50 yards.

What is the accuracy guarantee Remington will honor - 50 yards or 100 yards.

A person named Andrew responded to my inquiry of the 17 and said it was 50 yds.

I handled a 547 in the 17 this afternoon. The first one I've seen. I thought it was a very nice rifle, the wood wasn't anything special, but it was still a very nice rifle. Says "Remington Custom Shop" on the barrel. If it was a .22LR I may have had serious thoughts about buying it!

Thanks for clearing up the accuracy guarantee.

I think guaranteeing accuracy of sub 1" at 100yds in .22lr would be a remarkable guarantee. But it would be very doable in .17hmr with the right ammo.

Me too ... Me too,

Al the Infidel, I liked your rifle so much ...
I'm getting a Mountain Rifle too.

Just got off the phone and closed a deal
on a Remington Mountain Rifle with detachable magazine in .260 REM.

These are pictures the dealer took for me of the rifle in his store.
They are not very good. But, they do document my rifle.
I should be taking delivery as soon as the check clears the bank.

As soon as I get some more photos, I will post them.
Incidently, I asked the dealer to send me some more.
Hopefully, he will do it today.
By the way, he has another one in-stock, if anyone is interested.

And, Yes ... a 547 Custom is on my list to purchase.
hags rifle is beginning to look pretty good.
