Just interested to see what other guns you guys have.

I'm considering a CZ527. Are they as amazing as the 452s?

Taurus PT-99 9mm + Ceiner .22lr Kit
CZ 452 Varmint .22lr
Marlin 880SS .22lr
Mauser 98k Czech V-24 BRNO! 8x57mm
Remington 78 30-06
Ruger 10/22 Stainless .22lr
Yugo M59/66 SKS 7.62x39mm

Yes, I love my .22lr

I've got a 527 Carbine in 7.62x39mm. I had some issues with lightstrikes when I first got it, but CZ took care of it. I love the rifle, great little mini-mauser action. Mine isn't extremely accurate, but I am using run of the mill ammo, so I don't expect too much. It's good enough to take a deer. With a 4x scope at 100 yards I shot 4 (3 shot) groups, the worst was 2 5/8" and the best was 1 5/8" center to center. I can easily hit a 12x18" steel plate at 200 yards, sometimes offhand.

If you're getting a .223, you can expect better groups than that, especially with better ammo.

Which 527 are you looking at?

I bought a CZ 452 yesterday in .17 HMR.
Here's my List:

Marlin 336 in 3030 Ackley Improved
Marlin 1895G 45/70
Marlin Model 17 12 gauge goose gun (antique)
Winchester Apex 209 inline 50 caliber muzzleloader
Yugo M48 8mm mauser
Mosin Nagant M38
Ruger 10/22
and soon CZ 452 LUX (trainer) on June 6

I handload and cast everything except obviously the rimfires.

I'd be looking at .223 or 7.62x39mm. I like the Varmint Kevlar that Guntech has, I suppose that would leave me with .223.

Does anyone know what the bore diameter is of the CZ527 in 39? I've heard that the Ruger Mini30 starts at .311 and squeezes down towards the muzzle.

I know that bore diameter will cause horrible accuracy problems.

The CZ-527 in 7.62x39 has a bore of 0.3105. I've been using 0.310 bullets as well as 0.308. Both shoot reasonably well, but the 310 bullets give an extra 100 fps. 310/311 bores will shoot fine, provided you use the right ammunition.

I'm very happy with my CZ 527. The unset trigger in not quite as nice as the trigger on my 452, but the set trigger is tops Mine is chambered in .204 Ruger. Using Hornady factory loaded 40 grain V-Max I have her down to about 0.7" at 100 yards. She shoots about 0.5" with the 32 grain loads, but I think I'll stick with the heavier bullets for coyotes.

I have a couple of 527's and love them both. 223 Rem and .204 Ruger, Both are very accurate and very well finished IMHO. I want a CZ550 in .308 Win now

I have the same thing in .22--my winter basement practice gun. Lovely, beautiful gun and I love everything about it except the trigger, which breaks very cleanly but at about 10-12 pounds! If I could get that trigger to break that way at 3 pounds, I'd shoot that thing every single day!
