CHIEF SAYS:
WALLA! ahead of the game , I had this figured from the start.

SOMEDAY : GM would release a Stinger chambered barrel for
the 10-22. Now one can cut no corners in the quality parts
department when it comes to testing the ( hyper velocity)
wildcat, no grouping 1650 fps CCI manufactured ammo.

I had the test gun ready , before the barrel arrived, making
sure the components were worthy for the test.
Ya know = the usual (KID tgr) (McMillan Stk) (Force rec) and
WTC-18 glass.

AN INTERESTING test .
I had wanted something different besides the shoot 5 rounds
at a bull-(dot) . So I tested the barrel (gun) , in a breakin manner
to see if the "breakin procedure" really worked or was just a
myth.
I would fire 10 shots , clean the bore , repeat this till 100 shots
were fired.
The target below , proves that a breakin session is worth the
time. Notice the groups are getting smaller as the session
ends.

Chief,

how did you clean it? just a solvent patch through the barrel? or did you go with a boresnake?

thanks

Chief says : ROD and patch was used for cleaning the bore.

A foaming bore cleaner "WIPE-OUT" was applied, patch used
as per regular process.
Boresnake ( with brush removed ) was the finishing touch of
each session.

The barrel (later) seemed to start grouping even better , the more it was shot. I have yet to test its accuracy at past the
50 yard mark.

Chief says : I bought the stock with a 10-22 purchased here
on RFC . its a McMillan but Bell and Carlson makes one almost
identical to it . I think "guess " they are about $250 new.

A friend did the paint , I beadblasted the scope to match.
Nothin fancy , just a little different.

Chief Dave, This could not have come at a better time for me. I just got my GM 10/22 Mag barrel yesterday, 20" blue fluted. I have already installed in the stock that I got from you, looks great. Thanks for the great stock. Shot really good with the stock barrel. Now I'll have to "season" this new barrel using your procedure. Hope I get as good results as you did. Now all I have to do is find another 10/22 Mag and convert it into a 10/17 Mag.

Thanks again for all your help CD.

i think brownells sells force receivers. save money and go w/a M.O.A. dual lug receiver if you want SS. they cost $168 and force sells em for about twice that much.
