Stewie333 & Stocker...nice rifles. Mine #4 is similar but with a very dark stain. It seems like though, the #4's are always extremely simple/plain in wood. I think I'm going to order a couple of Brnomann's match stocks for fun... to have. unfortunately he's out at the moment until fall.

That #5 does indeed appear to be birch but with a lighter stain than I usually see. As of yet a #5 keeps alluding me and I don't have one yet...still looking.

On the 611's, I thought that was your source OldCoastie...the ones he had are the nicest I have ever seen. If I could find one like yours I would scoop it up. Unfortunately when I contacted Denny a couple of months ago...he only had one and it was spoken for. Who knows though for the future...either way, since I really don't plan to shoot it much, I will wait for one with good wood.

Hi TOU
The stock on my #5 has little if any stain at all. It did used to have a darker stain but I stripped and sanded it down to bare wood and then just sealed and bl-oiled it.
Cheers

So is that all we have here?

Manitoban, that is an awesome wall of guns! By the way, Denny has a factory sight hoods that should fit your #5 if you've lost yours. Just a thought.

I began with a 456 Std match:

I prefer shorter barrel, my eye need scoped, my ear like them quiet,
scoped, shortened, threaded, recrowned:

Last week i bought a stock for another rifle, I was so impress when I receive-it that I ordered immediatly the version for 452:

Nothing perfect, alloy will be harder to work for the timney. I'll try it with the original trigger Brookerized.
Need also better pics.

Got a better pic. For blackrifle lover :

Didn't mention but the stock is alum and really stiff. I had liked a wider front, maybe 2", for bench support.

Okay here are a few shots of my Brno's:

My Model #1's (middle one is my first Brno, circa 1947)

My whole Brno Rim-fire clan (Minus their Stecher-3 brother who is in transit )...All were bought NIB unfired

My current Center-fire clan...

My Brno Gang...(minus their Stecher-3 Brother)

And finally Brno's mixed with a few CZ cousins.

Thanks for the compliment...I think. I hope to add many more in the years to come...and there were several more that unfortunately have gone by the way side.

As to my personal favorite...With out even the slightest hesitation it would be my original and first bought Brno nearly two decades ago....my original 1947 Model#1. (pictured below) It would be the last gun to ever go...and has survived when times were to lean to justify it's ownership.

When the new Brno Match stocks arrive in the Fall from Denny, my #4 is going into one and I might just get around to seeing what it can really do...who knows, maybe it will become my favorite...for targets that is. However, since targeting is a bit secondary to me...my old #1's position is most likely safe.
