Looking for a non extended thumb safety

When I built this 22/45 the only thumb safety I could get was a Volq Extended. Ruger wouldn't sell me one.

Although this is an awesome build I hardly every shoot it, as the Volq leaves the side of my thumb raw.

Anyone have a source, or perhaps an OEM safety laying around?

thanks

I know what you mean, I have one on my Scorpion. Can you smooth it down with a Dremel? It shouldn’t take too much but I understand that it might look a little janky.

I don't see many OEM safeties for sale. Rather than grind up your VQ safety, you might consider adding one of these to save your thumb:

I ran into the same issue. I just beveled the "corner" of the safety. I beveled it on an angle that matches the adjacent grip frame area. That definitely fixes the "eats my thumb" issue while leaving the safety perfectly functional. The downside is the beveled area is bare metal. In this case that's bare stainless steel as the VQ safety is stainless steel under the black surface.
