Has anyone tried Rugerís Lasermax on their factory stocked 10/22. Iím trying to figure our if the Lasermax is junk or could be useful for diparching skunks and raccoons that are desrptructive pests that prowl around the farm at night. Anyone have experience with this laser sight?

Are you talking about the one that replaces the front barrel band? If yes they work well and are fun to play with. I bought one for my daughter and liked it so much I bought another for the cabin to use on my raccoon dispatching rifle. They are periodically on sale at CDNN for around $30 sometimes with a Butler Creek 25 round mag thrown in.

Lasermax's products are all pretty good (at least the ones I've tried have been). I don't see any reason this one would be any different. Seems just about perfect for what you want it for. And you can't beat the price they're going for.

I like mine on a #11125, just have to watch the button when putting away.

CDNN has them for $19.99. Ordered one a few weeks ago, but haven't tried it out yet. Too good a deal to pass up.

They are lots of fun. The dot is visible on a 200 yard target. Clear cut land or target ranges have no issue. Activating the laser in a hurry is easy, making for quick point and shoot during varmint eradication. It will take a beating in the field and keep going.

The negative:
You have to elevate the rifle to compensate for bullet drop at longer range. Sometimes this involves the laser going off amd above the target, taking away your accuracy. A scope allows you to keep POA and POI the same with a quick turret twist.

If hunting in tall grass, a single blade is enough to redirect your laser dot.

You have to rezero the laser after replacing the battery. The activation sliding button is easy the activate by accident and run the battery dead.
