Great Price - Vortex Strike Eagle 4-24x50

I've never been a huge fan of Vortex optics based on the lower end products I've looked through. That is until now. I recently picked up the 4-24x50 Strike Eagle on closeout for $299.99, and boy am I impressed. I've mounted it to one of my newer squirrel hunting rigs, got it sighted in, and was successful in the field with it yesterday (10/14). https://www.eurooptic.com/Vortex-Strike-Eagle-4-24x50-with-EBR-4-MOA-Riflescope-SE-1627.aspx

Upsides are:

Great glass for the money. Very clear, and large field of view

Turrets are easy to read. They are tactile, but not very audible.

Love the included sunshade and bikini lens cover

Illuminated reticle for early morning and late evening shooting is a must with a reticle this thin, so I love that it's included.

20y bottom parallax, which most Vortex optics have a bottom of 50y, which makes it a no go for a squirrel hunter like myself.

Lot's of holdover's in the reticle. Pairs nicely with iStrelok.

Downsides:

Heavy at 25+ ozs.

Adjustments are a little stiff, but loosen with a little work.

Parallax isn't marked other than 20y bottom end.

Turrets aren't audible like I like, but I can live with it.

If that model is too heavy and has too much magnification you can step down to the smaller 3-18x44 https://www.eurooptic.com/Vortex-Strike-Eagle-3-18x44-with-EBR-4-MOA-Riflescope-SE-1626.aspx

I was pretty successful in my opening day squirrel hunt with this optic. I did use the IL reticle both in the early morning and to close out the afternoon. I'm still shocked at how nice it is for what they are asking for it. Unfortunately it's been discontinued, and I'm not sure why? I should probably score another before they all get gone. Maybe for another future squirrel rifle.....

Thanks for the tip. I just grabbed my second one for about $150 less than I paid for the first one over a year ago. (Of course, now I need to go rifle shopping to find it a playmate!)

I've been quite pleased with the Strike Eagle and, like you, am not sure why Vortex discontinued it.

Much obliged!

Lots of holdover options using iStrelok for the ebr4 reticle. Makes it great for long targets on the range or in the timber.

Glad I saw this. Just ordered one. Really like that it has 80moa of elevation. Made my choice of scope rails must easier. Thanks

Great Price - Vortex Strike Eagle 4-24x50

Just unboxed and mounted one of these. Seems like a ton of scope for the money. Canít wait to get my T1x to the range and zero it. If it passes a box test and they are still available Iíll probably buy another at that price.

The Strike Eagle should be a good match for the Tikka T1X. The two Tikka's I've had a chance to shoot are pretty accurate. Great bolt throw, and great trigger.

The more I use the scope the more I love it. The field of view is huge. The precise crosshairs provide a great aiming point. The magnification, and side focus wheels are easy to adjust. The added magnification with holdovers in the glass give me more confidence in those longer range attempts.

Thatís a limit of eight NC grays. Iíve spent most of this season behind this glass, and Iím impressed for the price.

Are these scopes made in China? Philippines? Japan?
