I know for some people it's heresy but this is a parts rifle....

What bases fit a D? Drill and tap type.

If you drill and tap front and rear with 0.860-inch hole spacing that will match it up to Weaver #46s or #85s and other manufacturers:
S&K: Item "CF"
Leupold: 50038
Leupold: 50046 for dual dovetail,
Conetrol: "88" series
Talley: 252717

Take it a step farther and if you match the distance between the front and rear pair of holes to that of the Winchester 88/100 you can even use one-piece bases such as the Weaver #53 and Redfield JR (47148).

EGW lists two Picatinny rails (42800 & 42802) for the 88/100.

Disclaimer: I have not tried all of these; this info was dug up in trying to find alternate bases for the 52Rs. One-piece bases from Weaver, Buehler & Redfield all fit a 52R.
The 52E uses the 0.860-inch bases but the distance between the front and rear locations is different.

A couple things to note on the #46 base. Although Weaver lists them for 52's they don't fit right. The radius is wrong for the 52's receiver and even it was right you couldn't mix it with the #85 base as it's thinner or lower.

When I scoped my Miroku 52 I bought two 85's and one 46, the 46 has an offset slot where the 85 has a centered slot. Anyway the 46 doesn't fit the radius of the receiver on the repop 52 or my D's or E. It would probably work but you wont have full seating contact unless you bed them.

I have the offset slot 46's front and rear on a 52D, if I am not mistaken I think my 52E has the same set. The offset was needed to clear the peep sight mount. These mounts were already on both rifles when I purchased them. I can take the scope from one and put on the other without moving the rings. So whoever did the D&T on the D, used the spacing from a E I suppose. Anyway they work great.
