barrel markings

Does it say "1700 FWT" on the barrel? Mine is in what I call a black stock. If it really is a 1700 FWT it's pretty rare and should bring about what the current ones bring even if it's used some. I got a steal 3 years ago on mine, 900 bucks at a local gunshow but I considered it a near "double your money gun" but I'ts not for sale. I would be happy to put about 1500/1600 in one in excellent condistion if I wanted another one.

Always best to start with what the seller is asking for the rifle. Also "good shape" is pretty subjective. Optics? Accessories? Any provenance with the rifle?

I have a 89 vintage Gray 1700FWT and so marked and it out shoots my 1907 heavier gun all day long. As new condition and with Lapua Pistol King shoots in the .2's @ 50yds and close with Center-X.Going to re-barrel the 1907 from 2011 as can't get it to shoot to my liking.

Forgot to add I paid $1600 for mine in easy 98% condition with scope from a friend who has several a short time ago. Money well spent.

Indeed. The FWT series are wonderful rifles.
