First shot yesterday at a Steel Challenge match shooting CCI AR Tactical! Thank God the case didn't eject!
The bullet was actually stopped midway in the barrel, I snapped the picture before I pushed it out with a rod so people could see it!

I have not seen that before I have heard about squibs being stuck in the barrel. Never saw it make it to the end of the barrel.

He said it stopped mid way down the barrel, he wanted people to see it before he pushed it all the way out.

Yup, your right. I wasn't paying attention. Was drinking coffee.

Under any circumstances - except combat or self-defense - always cease fire and check the bore after a soft report or a light/no recoil impulse. Always.

Stay safe.

No surprise. CCI does not manufacture high quality rimfire cartridges.
I've had boxes that did extremely well off the bench,
but the next box was only plinking ammo, barely capable of minute of soda can at 50 yards.
CCI does not do any batch testing other than function and chamber pressure.
What is shipped and sold varies in quality, due to the production line lottery.

You shoot CCI when all you do is personally bash them on and on - like claiming you experience boxes of them with groups the size of a soda can at 50yds. It appears to me that your posts regarding 22LR or WMR all seem be that they don't meet your standards. I thought you said you were moving on to focus on more accurate and expensive centerfires.

Springer? You don't like it when I agree with the original posters comment?
Or have you decided that any of my comments and opinions simply annoy you?
Or is it you don't like anything that denigrates anything to do with rimfire?
I'm not claiming amazing accuracy all day long with bulk ammunition.
I don't even pretend that I am anything but just another interested amateur.
What I will not do is offer a comment based on anything but my results.
If you've decided you just don't care for any opinions from me, at all, no problem.
Go to y'er user control panel and use that ignore option.
That way anything detrimental to your point of view won't upset your day.

I certainly don't want folks to think I'm not willing to offer a solution when I create a problem.

Al, I've tried CCI Green Tag on multiple occasions, after it was recommended here at RFC.
The chronograph numbers and results on target showed it to be CCI SV, in a plastic box and a higher cost per round.

Calamity shoots an average of 400 rounds of the Tacts a week and never has a problem of any kind. Of course there's three footnotes to go with that.

a) I clean the barrel/chamber after every shoot. Complete disassembly after 3 shoots.

b) Most of our CCI Tacts, SP, and Mini's are at least a year old, some 4-5 years old. I'm rotating my stock as best I can, but with over 50K of the three, I might miss a box or two.

c) Her two Ruger 11165's now have GM barrels. Still, even with the factory barrels, she never had a problem.

Green Tag used to be both much better than the standard CCI plinker fare and also have a lower $-delta vs. their other offerings.

Yours is not the 1st opinion I've heard in recent years that it's just not worth the co$t any more...

You should let CCI know about that along with the lot number.

Very lucky that the empty cartridge was in chamber or did not eject. Shows the importance of paying attention at all times. Like someone stated here "always cease fire and check the bore after a soft report or a light/no recoil impulse. Always. Good lesson here. I have tested and used this CCI AR Tactical last year quite a bit. Have not heard of many issues with it and I had good luck with it. I will pay more attention after seeing this.
