purchased one of these rifles on gunbroker without ever having one in hand. after receiving the rifle discovered to required excessive force to close the bolt. decided to send it back to keystone after emails and a phone call. must say my anxiety meter was ramping up -- would the rifle be repaired ect. keystone repaired the rifle and it works as expected. while it was out for repair saw one in a gunshop for sale and it had identical troubles of my rifle. saw a post here that a 722 owner felt his rifle required excessive force to close the bolt. keystone did repair my rifle. this is a nice looking rifle with good finish and styling. as a gun nut I have my ideals to make it better. all rifles should have a match or betz chamber. am not a fan of plastic magazines but if were flush with the bottom of the stock.......... think this rifle deserves a mannlicher styled stock option like the styre zephyr sold by stoeger until the early 1970's. this is the most handsome mannlicher styled .22 rifle stock ever sold on a mass produced rifle.

What model did you get? I agree they are very pretty guns across the board and the customer service is amazing.

I picked up one of the varmints a few months back and had to send it back to Keystone for poor accuracy and a few other concerns. The issue I had with my bolt was not so much that it was hard to close but that it had a tendency to bind up when closing it if the angle was not perfect. That was addressed alomg with the other issues and now it shoots amazing! The chamber is very tight and I got the trigger down to 10.5oz. I will get a few .25 or smaller 5 shot groups at 50 yards each time i take it out and most are under .5 inches if i am doing my part.

have only run a full magazine thru my 722 to see if it works. am looking for the correct weaver bases for a scope mount. don't like the looks of the scope base made by keystone.

Keystones quality control is wanting - Got my 722 Varmint after one pull of the trigger would lock up. Screws holding the stock were over tightened found this out by accident .
--Seer set screw cross threaded at a angle--Light strikes many failed to fire.
Keystone took care of it (good people - lousy quality control)
Gun is accurate and fun to shoot - like the magazine not needing a release tab- plus a single shot mag is available.
I judge how good a company by the credo "You got my money you got my problems".
Keystone takes care of it's own.

I have one of the earlier 722 Varmint models and most all stuff shoots 3/8th to 1/2 inch. The wood in my stock is very good looking for a cheaper 22 lr. I did send my bolt back because it was experiencing a few failure to extract. Got it back the next week and all has been fine since. Great rifles for the money and top notch customer service.

Steve.........
