Get rid of the reading glasses and focus the AO, , put the sunshade on the scope or tak it off. Fine crosshairs are a pia to see with old eyes . I find-if I take bilberry pills, the night before I shoot I can pick them up easier.

take a baseball cap and hang it on the top turret so the cap comes down over the ejection port .this will block the spit and deposit the ejected cases in a nice little pile . You are flinching from the anticipated powder spit. A little flinch is your problem imho.

S for a resti have found the Caldwell tack driver , a big front bag with a little rear bag to be the best compromise for me.

Good luck have fun , it will all work out!

Thanks again everyone, all this has been most helpful.

I will let you all know how it turns out.

I've dealt with Kidd on a problem trigger before and got excellent customer service. I am betting any issues are me and not the gun but I do have complete confidence it will get it to where I am wanting it to be.

Thanks again!

Your gun can shoot like that, too. I'd bet on it. You just need some good ammo, a good scope and a good setup. I shoot from a concrete bench. A tuner on a 20" Kidd barrel will help them shoot better. But they still shoot great without one. Here I will show you what mine did no tuner. This was first Kidd barrel.

I should have been a little more specific in my post. My Kidd's have all shot great from day one also. But it usually takes me about a brick or so to get it to where I'm comfortable enough to shoot serious groups. I like to run cheap ammo like Blazers through my barrels for the first few hundred rounds. Then when I start using better ammo I mess around with the torque settings and re-zero my scopes.

You are good Nick. No need to explain. I myself like shooting the ammo I am gonna shoot and I start with a clean barrel. I shoot about 5 rounds of SK Pistol Match and I am ready for groups. I myself never shoot much over 500 rounds before I quit with that gun to switch with another or it needs cleaned.

And then...........

And then there's the ever-present variable known as "the shooter". You can get better equipment but you can never totally eliminate that guy. Good days and bad days. Keep after it!

I agree! LOL. I did pull out my beloved cz 452 and I shot better with it but we have a long relationship together. I did not shoot my CZ as well as I normally do so I am thinking it wasn't the best of days for me.

That was one Joe Chacon sold me. It was a JNL PRX II tuner.

So far I have clamped it on 2 of my 5 Kidd 20" stainless bead blast barrels and 186 setting shoots lights out. I would say it will do the same on the other 3 Kidd barrels.

It works at 100yds too. Those stickers are 1".

Here was back to back 5 shot groups.

Man, that is great group at 100yds (0.33), with a Kidd bull barrel. Most barrels are usually longer, and slimmer for a tuner to be as it's best; however, your groups are outstanding. You need to enter the 100 yd contest on this site.

Thanks. I really need to get out and shoot more. I have been to range twice all year. I guess I am getting old.

Don’t let the cherry picked targets get you down, your gun isn’t going to average .125” groups, but it also is capable of much more than the targets you posted. I was disappointed with my Supergrade for the first couple of hundreds rounds then *poof* that sucker all of a sudden started putting out excellent results. (I have a non-supergrade Kidd and it took ~100 rounds to start shooting.). See https://www.rimfirecentral.com/forum....php?t=1164047 for real world targets from the Supergrade.

I also have that 40x Mueller and man is it punishing. Everyone thinks they have a “rock solid” setup until they get behind a 40x scope and see all that wobble! I prefer my Weaver 32x because the crosshair is easier to see. I have a Rock BR front with custom Protektor bag (https://protektormodel.com/collectio...-ear-front-bag) and a Protektor rear bag. I also recommend getting a cheap scope level. Cant can really kill groups.

For what it is worth, none of my Kidd’s like CCI, but both of them love Center-X and Polar Biathalon. SK Standard Plus is okay in both, but not great like it is in my CZ.

My intent was to show accuracy potential for Kidd barrels and pass on info about shooting good ammo and using a tuner not to cherry pick and make shooter want to call it quits. Accuracy motivates most shooters. I know it did me over the years. I have been blessed to know some great shooters who were kind enough to teach me how to obtain it. The do's an don'ts is what I like to call it.
