Not the Diana Model 75 . . . The Diana 75 was a side-cocker. Your rifle is a break-barrel, isn't it? . . . I think the Hyscore 820 is probably a Diana 65 . . . The 75 was the culmination of the GISS system recoilless spring design. The Hy Scores came before that, as I recall.

BTW, there was a few years that the Diana name could not be used for legal reasons. I'm pretty sure those were the years that you saw Diana rifles sold under the HyScore, Original and Winchester names. Yes, Winchester sold this same gun.

ETA: Here's a blog post about the Diana 60 that says the 60 was also sold as a HyScore 810 . . . https://www.pyramydair.com/blog/2011...-rifle-part-1/

In that case, yes, a Diana 75. Nice rifles (actually, all the GISS rifles were nice)

While thereís much more info around on the 75ís I canít find a single thing about the 820SMís.

What kind of FPS range should I expect from the rifle to get an idea of the condition of the seals?

If seals are needed- is it something someone mechanically inclined line myself can do? My brother has a 300s and has replaced the seals on it.

I suppose I could go downstairs and chrony my 75 but I'm lazy. Off the top of my head, I'd say you're looking for something around 550 fps +/- maybe 50 fps.

And no, I've always read that tearing into the the Giss system is not something for the DIY guy. As I understand it, the opposing gears/racks of the GISS system have to be timed, or at least precisely fitted. Your brother's 300s is a more difficult job than a basic spring airgun but the Giss guns are a magnitude more complex.

I'm sure some guys have done it but I wouldn't attempt it. In fact, when I had a Diana 66 I sent it off to David Slade at Airgunwerks: http://www.airgunwerks.com/index.html

Much appreciated. When I can Iíll shoot it over the chrono and see what the numbers are. If theyíre not in that area Iíll look around for someone to rebuild. Any ideas of potential rebuild/reseal cost?

If you go to that website I linked, he has a price list. As I recall, you're looking at about $90 plus parts, plus shipping . . . expect a couple month turn-around with that guy, but he's probably among the top two or three in the business when it comes to the old match guns.

From memory when I had a Diana Mod 75 it was between 550 & 600 fps.

As mentioned above the Giss systems are more challenging to service.

The 75 is said to be particularly so as it requires the complex trigger mechanism to be dismantled in order to get to the guts of it.

As mentioned Dave Slade would be my choice too. I talked to him about two weeks ago and he was four weeks out then. If you're on the west side of the country there are probably some people there who can do it too.

Two of the best air gun forums, IMHO.

https://www.airgunnation.com/

https://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA...c&action=forum

BTW, that is a fine rifle. We shoot 10 yards air rifle BR indoors in the winter and when my buddy brings his Diana 75 it'll take 399-400/400 to beat him. There are some very expensive PCP rifles there and I've never seen one beat his 75.

*edit* I see you've already found GTA.
