I was considering having Robar NP3 plate a 1911 lower that I just completed, but their web page shows they are not taking new business. Does anyone know if they are still viable?

The site order page actually said this>>"We are not accepting Firearms for Custom Gunsmith Work, Repairs ,or Metal Finish at this time. Please check back with us beginning of next month. Contact us via email at [email protected] prior to shipping any parts or firearms"

After a bit more searching I see a post over on 1911forum that suggests they are "scaling back" their firearms business. No mention as to whether any firearm coating will be offered going forward, but implication is certainly no more gunsmithing. Perhaps to focus on the CTI plating business? I guess we'll have to wait and see if any firearms plating remains available.

I hope they don't completely stop taking public work. I was just getting ready to send an AR to them for a "Norton Special". They have been doing alot of government contract work and coatings for some of the bigger names in the firearm industry. Maybe they just got too big to take on gun at a time.
