Hmmmmm

From personal experience, there are/were very few inexpensive ways to get into a real 10/22 magnum. The first two of these I have done. First, and this way is no longer available, buy one back when they were in production. My first one was just under $300 and I still have it. You can not get into that particular gun for anywhere near that money. Second, have a guy on RimfireCentral who for some unknown reason takes a liking to you and sells you one of his for $600 shipped to your local gun shop. Neither of these guns is for sale. The only other possibility I'm aware of is having the great good fortune to run across one for sale by a person who has no idea what they have. I've only heard of that option. Else, be ready to spend a lot more than what I'd call inexpensive. There are a few for sale on gunbroker. Starting bids $750 and UP.

Seriously, I hope you find something and don't have to spend an arm and a leg to get it.

Just to clarify, it does NOT have to be a Ruger. Iím wondering about all versions made by anyone including buying in parts from various makers such as receivers, barrels etc in .22WMR.

What is the least expensive routes youíve found and how much are we looking at?

I havent seen a 10/22M on a local gunrack in over a decade and I think that might have been a Volquartsen.

Thank you!

Cheapest I'm aware of are the magnum research versions, if you have a scheels near you the one I used to go to always seemed to have them. I think you're looking at 600 and up regardless of which route you go unless you get lucky.

The cheapest way would be to get someone else to give it to you or pay for it for you. Or stealing one (which I am not condoning whatsoever, just a joke).

Cheaper than Dirt has CZ 512's at about $450, Savage A22 for less.

An unfired Ruger 10/22 magnum in original box just sold on Gunbroker for $1100. That's the cheapest I've seen in a long time for an unfired one.
