So I’ve got the Volquartsen T3 and the PWS T3 Summit. After a bit of stuffing around the Volquartsen is shooting great but the recently acquired PWS I’m having linkage issues with. I’m currently about to brake my 3rd set of linkages and I’m wondering if the Volquartsen ones ( which are thicker) are a direct replacement. I have only been getting about 250rds out of a set of linkage’s before they break. Constantly chasing a growing head space and failure to fire is the tell tail it’s bending. Has anyone else had a similar issue and a fix for it?

Yes I had the same problem with my early Volquartsen Summit. You need to contact Volquatrsen and see if the replacement will work on yours. I broke one of the early ones in under 25 shots. If so you can just get them to send a part as they did that for me the last time. Have you done the extractor and firing pin update as well?

Not yet on the firing pin/extractor upgrade. The Volquartsen head space hasn’t moved in over 600rds but this bloody PWS is annoying........ and being in Australia also sucks trying to get VQ parts. Just waiting on the importer to get them in.

I agree with grg. My PWS Summit broke the original linkage and also the first replacement from Volquartsen. Volquartsen realized there was a problem and replaced their first one with a redesigned linkage which has functioned perfectly since installation. I think the metal is thicker and with a different hardening process.
The Summit action has resurrected a very accurate Volquartsen 17 Hm2 barrel that I had abandoned due to problems in the 10/22 platform.

I had the opposite issue with my PWS T-3. The linkages were too short and the headspace was .073 without any shims on the barrel. Probably one of the worst .22’s I’ve ever owned, but for some reason I just keep hanging on to it.
