RUGER SR-22 Rifle Conversion Kit Build

In June I stumbled on the SR-22 Conversion kit on the Brownells site. 22lr PCCs have become popular at the club I shoot IPSC and being abit more economical to feed I decided to build up a rifle using this kit.

I got it when Brownells offered 50% off plus I had an additional discount which I used.

I also got a M4 10/22 barrel from Brownells, as well as a base model 10/22 at Cabelas, and ordered a couple trigger group parts to upgrade the OEM trigger assembly, as well as some clearance parts on the shopRuger site.

The build was pretty straight forward and the rifle is amazingly accurate with the M4 barrel, in fact it gives some of my other 22s a run for the money at 25-50 yds, and better accuracy than my basic 10/22s.

I mounted a MRD on a QR mount for it for the PCC shoots, and will shortly have a Weaver 2-7 scope on it with QR rings.

I don't know why Ruger dropped it from their line but I really like it, and it catches the eye of folks at the club.

My .02

I've been a fan of the Nordic/SR chassis for some time as well.

I have two Ruger SR chassis, one with Kidd 16" ultra light barrel, and one (SBR) with 10" Charger barrel... had to shorten the hand-guard and top rail for the SBR.

The Kidd barreled carbine is a tack driver with good ammo.

The SBR isn't as good, but small game inside 50 yards are easy targets.
