Can somebody tell me the difference from "regular" GSG 1911 22lr and the California model?
Am in the 10 day waiting period phase, will be taking delivery on 6/12/2019.

Thanks to all who reply,

Gary

Probably 10 shot mags

Also any handgun sold/transferred through a dealer in CA has to be on the CA approved handgun roster. If you started paperwork on it through a CA FFL chances are it's on the roster.

The CA model is non-threaded. All models ship with a 10-round magazine.

Do all models have the series 80 magazine disconnect? The CA does.

That's what I was afraid of. Guess that takes out using the Tandemkross accurizng kit.

Unless (ahem) I find a threaded barrel somewhere.

Thanks to you fine gentlemen who responded so quickly

Actually, you can order a custom bored straight bushing from EGW so you don’t need the threaded barrel and conical cap.

•Full length guide rod
•Slide alignment cone (SAC)
•Bushing
•Spring
•Plug
•Bushing and SAC are fitted together before shipping.

Removing the mag safety is super easy. I think they all include it. Here's a link to a video. Mag safety removal starts around 2m 30s. FWIW, it's possible to remove the mag safety with the hammer cocked but not nearly as easy if it isn't. Don't ask how I know this.

You can't dry fire/cycle the action with a mag safety installed

What is the difference...

The mag safety is one more moving part that can fail, it prevents you from firing the gun with a round in chamber if you are reloading when one shy of empty, tactical reload defensive scenario, and it makes you need a magazine to release the hammer with the trigger when servicing which may actually increase risk if you were not using good maintenance procedure of all live ammo in another room...
I’m not going to remove it in the GSG, because it’s also going to be a first handgun for *teaching* kids eventually, but there are some good arguments to do so.
