Super Stock Try Out

Shot this target this morning with a 10/22 I put together a few days ago. I forgot to shoot sizers so I just took off .200" from the groups, posting as an example. The rifle is as follows:

GM 20" Sporter Barrel
JWH Trigger Kit @ 2.5 lbs or so
VQ Extractor

I actually tried tape bedding on the action and it seems to work ok, small light pressure point at end of forearm I will bed it correctly later if I stay with the carbine stock. The little 3-9x Hawke isn't the best scope I ever used either but it works, little dim and had parallax problems to even with the AO. Need to get the bolt re-worked or replaced also as the head space is at .050". Ammo was SK RM Here's the target. I adjusted the elevation to get 4 groups on the two targets.

Nice target.

The tape bedding does make a difference.
I had one that I shot with tape bedding for about two years, before doing my first epoxy job. The tape held up fine, and there was no change in accuracy when I done epoxy, and added a bed button. I just had that peace of mind knowing that I didn't miss something by not trying it.

Thanks Hawkeye, appeciate the info about the bedding not changing accuracy, not decided on a stock...might keep the carbine stock its in and paint it or get a Ruger DSP and bed it in that, also going to get my bolt done or get a new one...

You have this one on the run! Great job!

If the target had been shot within the rules of the game you would be in the 1/4" Club

Fantastic shooting you are doing there. I am not sure I would monkey with it too much more.
