I had my gunsmith install the Apex in my 617. He used the factory mainspring too. He "tuned" the spring a little. The strain screw is also snugged all the way in.

Thanks. Anybody running a Wolff spring with the Apex hammer?

I ordered the Apex Tactical Mass Hammer and Firing Pin. Hopefully they will yield good results.

Call Apex in the morning. That's the older kit. The new one isn't listed on their web site right now. You may want to talk to Randy. He can arrange for you to get the right kit.

I put a Wolf spring kit in my 6" 617 when I first got it. It helped some but when I had the trigger job done the stock spring was put back in.

Both of my 617s are 100% reliable as they are setup and the triggers are smooooth.
