picked up of H&R revolvers

Went to 2 gun shows this month and found H&R revolvers at each.
I love old 22's and always wanted the model 999 sportsman since I passed on a very nice one years ago at a local pawn shop. They certainly aren't as cheap as they used to be!
The sportsman I paid $400 for and today I paid $150 for the 929 which is sporting a barrel from a model R92.
I'm haven't got to shooting them yet but both seem to be in excellent condition and reportedly function well.20190323_182618.jpg

Congrats, those old H&R's are usually good shooters.

Very nice, my first handgun was a H & R revolver, I believe it was a 622. It was the lowest cost model that you had to remove the cylinder pin and remove the cylinder to load the revolver, using the pin to punch out the spent cases.

Congratulations on some nice finds. Like anything else no longer in production, H&Rs are becoming more rare, at least working models, so they're just going to appreciate, I expect.

Though not in the same class as S&W or Colt, they and others, like Iver Johnson, filled an important niche in American handgun history. And for geezers like me, whose first handgun shots were fired on a H&R revolver (model 999, in fact) they will always hold a place in our hearts. Congratulations again on some great finds.

Thanks guys; now to find 'period' holsters to use when carrying them in the field.
Should I search ebay for holsters for revolvers for their barrel lengths?

Desirable Feature in 900-series H&R's

It appears that H&R made 9-round 22LR revolver models ranging from 900 to 999. Which models have more desirable features? Or are they equally desirable? Your input is appreciated.

Very nice. Only one I have is the 949 still like mint. Birthday gift in the 60's I think it was. I just replaced the nylon or plastic guts inside after I picked it up and heard something rattling around.

Here is my addition to the HR thread, back in my younger days, the 939 was a regular companion.
