It looks like your rifle would be from the late 70's but not positive. I'm not even sure if you can contact Winchester with the numbers in the first post. It's worth a try if you want a exact date, then I can add your number to the list.

Never knew they offered these rifles scoped from the factory. Are you the original purchaser?

I'm not the original purchaser, but I am a close friend of the original. He purchased the rifle with the scope for his son, who never liked it, so I bought it for a song....$125
This rifle has become my 11 year old duaghter's now.

I'll post pics later.

Texagun, it looks like your rifle was made around 76 or 77.

Just for kicks, I just (Sunday 5/21 , 2:44PM EST) dialed the "800" number and the number is still active. They tell what the business hours are and to call back then!
Only a guess...I think you could probably still ask for Date of Manufacture..

In fact (If I remember) I will call tomorrow and ask then post what I find out!! One question I have is about the S/N list that they were going to have on their site..

Regards, Jack

Well I just remembered to call them and you can still call for date of manufacture..They are still "thinking" about posting a DOM list on their web site!

I wish they would stop thinking and get on with it. How hard could it be for one of their computer guys to do it quickly.

AK..
I almost asked them the same question!!

I did have a little chat with them and bottom line is everything is still the same except for the closing of the CT. plant and the discontinuance of certain models. Service, parts, etc are the same! In fact parts for the current guns can be bought straight from "Winchester"!!

Regards, Jack

You have me on that one. Best you could do is call the number in the first post and they should give you a date.
