Not exactly the same, but...

I have an 12.5 870 that is a registered SBS. I took it rabbit hunting a couple times. Configured with a pistol grip, it is smaller than a Shockwave. Fun. Managed to kill a few bunnies.

I've seen people shoot a round of skeet with a SPAS-12 and a Armsel Striker. I've seen one guy use one of the 45-70/410 derringers. I've seen a FA USAA12 used for trap, and a Judge used for 5 stand.

So no, not surprising that someone took a shockwave hunting.

I'm still contemplating my NEED for one of these... Ruger Charger or a Shockwave 20ga... ??? I'd put an arm brace on the Charger but keep the Shockwave compact.

Okay, so this guy hunted with a Shockwave, but hunters are not Mossberg's target demographic for that gun. The target (no pun) demographics are mall ninjas, and off the grid survivalists. There are more practical and sensible solutions for every problem a Shockwave is supposed to solve.

Also, not sure where his is hunting, but in Missouri hunting with buckshot is a good way to get your firearm confiscated by a conservation officer.

That sounds to me like the best way to hunt with something like this. I've got two 14 inch barreled 12 gauges, an 18 inch 20 gauge, and a Judge.

Standing next to a trap, I can get hits on clays with all four, but have to be quick and it really helps to ambush the bird!

They're great fun and a challenge. I think they're best employed in a self defense role in tight quarters and at close range.

I had a hard time breaking clays with a Shockwave 590M. The form 1 to SBS it is back, but unfortunately it broke the one time I took it out. It is back at Mossberg getting fixed.
