I would suggest spending the extra $$$$ and getting an Anschutz that you will take pride in and never feel the need to upgrade.
If you really want to go top shelf, see if you can find a 1720. Mine is definitely the finest in my collection.
My two cents.
With all the talk of how inconsistent .22 mag ammo is, I would have to have bunches of idle money sitting around to justify spending Anschutz money on a .22 mag....22lr a whole different story.

My Anschutz rifles are shooting sub MOA groups at 100 yd.
That's good enough for me.

For style and walking in Penn's Woods my CZ 452 FS/mannlicher........ best groups off the bench at 100yds are in the .9 range.......generally 1.2-1.5"

For throwing in the RZR side by side The Ruger American Carbine

I used to think that I had a lot of bolt action riimfire rifles, but I guess I really didn't. I went in phases, Marlins to Savages to a mix of everything. Now I'm down to about 4. My Sako Quad is my favorite for .22lr with a barrel for .17M2 and my Ruger RAR in .22 magnum. My son doesn't care for bolt action rifles, so we have some lever actions and slide actions.

IMO most modern rifles are capable of good accuracy! Some great!! Shoot I owned a new england single shot in 17hmr that would easily drill dime size groups @ 80yrds.
I haven't owned a marlin bolt gun in a long time, but there barrels are IMO Fantastic! I recently settled on a CZ 455 in 22mag & the jury is still out on this one! Im Still trying to get it set up to my liking for creature comforts such as a good trigger, length of pull, scope height ect-ect. Guess im picky! But I just swapped out a nikon monarch 5.5-16.5 for a mueller 4.5-14 just because the power ring on the scope swings the oppisit direction so the knob on the power ring doesn't interfere with the bolt travel on max power.

To each there own! It just takes me a while to settle in & get use to a rifle before expecting great things.

Very happy with my CZ 455 synthetic, spot on accuracy, got the synthetic because I may want the stock camo dipped to match my 12GA turkey gun.

After sighting the rifle in, i was happy i didn’t get a lemon. Anguilla ammo at 50yards 3 out of 5 in the 1” bulls eye touching. Now I shot over 150 rounds at 50 and 100 yards had to jack the elevation a little and had some bullseyes at 100 yards to. I was shooting off of bags. Overall very happy all metal components and that foolproof rotomag. I say very happy because i bought one of those Styer Zephyr ii 22wmr, what a piece of garbage! Their reviews are great but the guns are crap at least the.22wmr I wasted my money on. Ruger should have never discontinued these rifles in my opinion, that Ruger American that takes the place of the 77/22 is I guess the changing times all plastic and a few hundred dollars that’s what people want now. Me I’m WOOD and STEEL!!! Even though the 77/22 has a cast receiver would have been nice to have a milled one for the price. 77/22 were around $700 before they were discontinued.
Sir can I ask what problems you had with the Zephyr II rifle ? I like the looks of those rifles and check one out at the 2019 SHOT Show but when I looked at the mag release. I would have fired the designer who did that...for a rifle that cost that much they should have come up with a better design. Everything else on that rifle was really nice.

So what problem did you run into.

Thanks
