Need a Replacement Firing Pin

HELP, I need to order a replacement firing pin for a Marlin 39A, SN 182666 _ _ and want to make sure I order the correct part for a big match this weekend. If Iím reading the sticky chart correctly, it indicates that the rifle was made in 1982. Does that mean it takes the old style firing pin? Thanks in advance for responding help. Tom

One way to tell for sure. If your bolt had what looks like a thin headed nail as a pin to hold the firing pin in, its the newer one. If you can turn your bolt over and the firing pill just falls out, its the old style.

The new style, the firing pin has a notch milled into the top for that head of that pin , the older style does not.
