I placed an order thru their website about a month ago and got all the usual emails saying my order was "pending" and I would get a shipping notification when my order ships. Then nothing! I emailed, nothing! Tried to call, phone disconnected!
Guess they are gone.

Carl had sold or turned the company over to his Son in Law a year or two ago. Heard hints that it wasn't doing well from guys that shoot my matches. Amazing a company like that could go down so quickly.

It happens alot. Second generation just doesnt have the drive or the charisma of the original owner.

Or they do not have the knowledge. Giving advice on vintage Anschütz parts alone takes more than a few years of experience and there are very few reference sources.

'Tis a shame, but fortunately we still have Champion's Choice. They offer a broad array of Anschutz and other brand shooting supplies and they are great to deal with.

Sorry to hear CSS closed up. I purchased from them and afterwards they mailed their black and white printed pamphlet/catalog. Used to always be paging thru it.

I was looking for the latest info and ran upon your thread.

I had read on another forum a few weeks ago that Carl had a fall, which resulted in a severe head injury. I never did find where I had read that, but I understand that he and his wife had remained active in the business until then. I believe it was also said that she was in a car accident and, although not seriously injured, was quite shaken.

I had placed an order a couple of months ago, as had others, but I have not yet heard any reports of processed payments without delivery.

Hope the info helps...
