This has been an interesting read. Glad the OP let us know what he wound up doing. I have handled many BL-22 Brownings and a few Henry rifles also, but have never owned either. My lever actions are a 9422 and a couple of Marlin 39's. The Browning is so sleek and well finished, and the Henry is a great company and their rifles do their job. Given the choice, I would definitely have kept the Browning also. At least now you have owned both and can speak from experience.

For years I resisted buying a BL-22. I've owned many 9422s and 39As.

I found a great deal on an early BL-22 and couldn't pass it up. I had shot ones that were owned by friends, but never had the intense desire to buy one. After owning it, I'm really glad I bought it. It is "different" than the Winchesters and Marlins but it's quality is fabulous. If you like quality craftsmanship, and the short throw lever, then it is definitely the way to go.

Both my bl 22 s are early models, and have decent triggers. Read the sticky , watch the video and do the trigger job. Spray with hornady one shot dri lube and run a brick or two thru it it , it will break in quite nicely. Donít like the gloss, do the steel wool! . And buy the Henry! I bought a youth a few years ago, and it started my obsession with lever guns. Both are nice , for different reasons!
