I'l 2nd or 3rd the Magpul CTR adjustable stock. I have several and with the extra little lever, it snugs up nicely. The commercial vs. mil-spec deal has to do with the diameter of the buffer tube. The numbers escape me at this moment but I'm pretter sure the commercial is slightly larger diameter. You'll want to be sure you get a stock that matches up to your buffer tube. If you get a commercial stock on a mil-speck tube, it will be loose. google mil-spec vs. commercial buffer tube diameter.

+1 on the Magpul CTR.

I have an MOE on one AR and a CTR on another. The little bit of waggle on the MOE doesn't bother me overly much, but it keeps snagging mustache hairs (ouch!). The CTR doesn't do that. Needless to say, I'm looking to replace the MOE with another CTR.

I'm not a fan of the collapsible butt stocks for ar's. I'm not going to war or anything with them, I just shoot with them. Don't need to change lengths for body armor and such. The only one with a collapsible is the ar15-22 because I have to destroy it to put a regular butt stock on it. All the others, from .308 to 5.45x39 have had old style a1 butt stocks on them. The a1 is the right length for me.

Like above I don't adjust CAR stocks, tend to set and forget. Not to mention that they're evil in the State. My "handy carbines" sport BAD's mid-length Saber Tubes.
https://www.battlearmsdevelopment.co...65?category=20 Stiff, light, minimalist, and fully functional.
My shooter carbines sport the Ace stock shown above. Nice and light, but just a bit longer than the Saber Tubes for a better fit to me.
The PRS lower sports a Magpul PRS 2 with the longer pad.
