Thanks for that Sav22. My head was going in the wrong direction for the elevation. Now that I think of it I may not have had it all the way down. Even so 1" high at 20 yards I can live with. I had not thought of the shim on one side trick. I will give it a try. - Bill

Update: Just checked the sight and it was not all the way down - one problem solved!

After following Sav22s advise I used different shims until I got the rifle shooting a 5 round 5/8" group centered about 5/8" below PoA. 3 shots touching, then just below 2 shots touching.

I had made this sight up from one marked "J" on the base and a Winchester tang sight. I used the "J" base and the Winchester post. I took a couple weeks to get that modification done. Now after a few weeks of testing this tang sight I won a Lyman #1 SM at auction. It should be here in a couple weeks. - Bill
