Your pic's worked with the links to imgur.
Although I don't consider myself to be an expert on anything, that barrel didn't come from Colt in that configuration. Note that the USA is missing from the address legend on the right side of the barrel. The roll marking on the left side of the barrel is not centered along the barrels length. It's been shortened to 3". However it does look like a professional did a nice job of it.

The .22 mag cartridge was actually designed for a long barrel and thus has slow burning powder that doesn't completely burn in a short barrel handgun. This makes it not only loud, but similar to standing downwind of a forest fire. I used to have a S&W model 650 that was like shooting napalm rounds especially when the wind was in your face. Couldn't wait to get rid of it.

Somebody paid to have a lot of work done on it.

I would keep it, if for nothing else but the 22lr. I have a blued one with a 4” barrel and it is built like a tank. It is a “keeper”.
