Yeah..I'm a South Paw now..
Lost vision in my right eye.
One more question ?
Where in the world do you find scope bases for a model 14 ? Round receiver.. every thing I'm finding is for the Savage Axis..
Help.

Bases made for the Savage model 10, short action, AccuTriger, round rear receiver will fit. The AccuTrigger version (AKA round rear) of the basic model 10, 11, 12, 14, and 16 are all based on the same receiver. It's just that there aren't nearly as many 14s on the market, so base manufacturers often forget to include it in the "will fit" category.

.250 Savage is one of the best balanced all round varmint/deer cartridges ever produced and capable of stellar accuracy, with mild recoil. It has been overshadowed by the ever popular .243 Win., but it arguably can fit that dual role even better, with heavier bullets available for medium (deer) class game than .243. Very enjoyable to shoot, hunt with, and handload for. Enjoy yours!

I do believe?
This model 14 has a 1-10 twist.
My old Savage model 99 .. can only shoot up to 87 grain bullets.

Hey Buckweet sir what is going on here your now getting a Savage rifle I too had my eye on a classic 14 and if IIRC there was only two caliber they came in and I almost bought one. Very nice rifle it was the big brother to my Savage Classic 93s I have...I drug my feet long enough the one I was eyeing was sold. A 250/3000 savage is one super nice round...great job.

Yes.. I've had this Savage model 14 classic in my safe for quite some time..
I'm a huge fan of the .250/3000 cartridge.
I've owned a 99 for a long time.
I bought this 14 way back when I wanted a faster twist. To shoot 100 grainers.
But I kept shooting the 99 with Barnes 85 grainers.
Just now getting around to doing something with it.
I also dug up my Remington 700 ADL 7.65x55 with a 1/8 twist Douglas barrel.
Can you believe that!?? Buckweet with bolt action Rifles ?
