Boyds Rimfire Hunter for 795?

I'm thinking about picking one of these up for my 795. Does anybody have one? And does the higher cheek rise make using the iron sights difficult or impossible?

Thanks!

How about the Boyds At-One Thumbhole stock? It is only about 50 dollars more for a TON more features if you're going by Boyd's online website pricing.

Two of those features is adjustable cheek height and adjustable buttstock length.

Picture attached below.

I don't know where you live at, so I can't guess if you are trying to deal with "difficult" compliance regulations that limits your gun stock choices

Or you could just get a conventional A-One stock without the thumbhole. Same adjustment, just no thumbhole.

If you are considering to spend some significant funds to upgrade your Marlin, might as well do it right.

Don't understand why they stopped making the Hunter? Makes no sense.

Unless you know something that is not advertised on Boyd's website, the Rimfire Hunter laminated stock is still available as an option when you navigate to the Marlin 795 model rifle.

My comment is directed to the point of that it doesn't make sense to buy the rimfire hunter stock which for only 50 dollars more you get a far superior rifle stock setup getting the At-One or At-One Thumbhole stock.

Now it would make sense to pay for a premium wood conventional stock setup using a premium finish, like getting high quality wood on a over-under shotgun.

If you're wanting a stock for bench shooting yes.

But if your just off hand plinking, or out in the woods shooting tree rats, I'd rather have the rimfire hunter..

All depends upon what the original poster's use of the rifle is.

I've been running around in the woods with a Marlin 7000 lately...

One could say that a heavy barrel makes for a difficult woods carry...
but its hella lighter than a M60E3 machine gun!!
