Use CCI Minimags. Only a little more expensive than Blazers or Thunderbolts. There's a reason that cheap ammo is cheap.

He was using CCI Tacs.. Not blazers or tbolts..

However, this is a good post, to get us all back in the practice of checking after a light report, or even weak feeling round goes off.

Thank you

This was a Remington CBee Bullet that I shot in the dirty barrel of a 452 super exclusive. There was no report and the bullet ended up right where you see it! Still have the bullet.

I shot a batch of 5 year old CCI AR Tactical today at the range. It performed very well in my Savage MkII and 64. Cloverleaf groups at 25 yards anyway.

I have always been pleased with this ammo. I'm disturbed to hear others haven't had the same experience lately. I was hoping to get some more of the stuff next time I see it on the racks at the LGS. Hopefully it is still the same high quality stuff.

If you cant get the very same LOT number of whatever you are shooting and satisfied with then it is a complete lottery of it performing in a similar fashion.
Odds are with the house, not you.

I have an "old" box of CCI AR tactical (square dark blue box about 3"x3"x3").
I recently tested it in my Rem 597 and it was giving decent groups about 1.25 MOA at 50 yards.

I picked up some new AR Tactical, in the flat box. No where near as consistent, groups were 2-3 MOA. After 5 targets I gave up.

I know this is not match ammo, but the old stuff was decent for practice.

I guess I'll just run it for fun.
