been thinking about doing my next build...want to do a Takedown using the TI 80% receiver

I already have the BX trigger, a factory mica brown stock, and a Bug Buster scope from the parts bin

what I want to know is, does anybody know if there is a heavy taper barrel in a 17-20" length available for the takedown?

I want to be able to use the stock with the barrel band, so I'm not interested in any .920 barrels

Rimfire sports and customs show a TI 16.5 tapered barrel for the take down, but the description does not say if its a heavy taper or not.

yeah, I saw those when I was checking out the receivers, and may end up with one, but I would like something a little longer and preferably heavier if I can get a line on such a thing

Maybe we could get together a group buy to go to GM and ask for this?

when I asked GM about it, this was the response I received:

Good Morning Jim,

Thank you for contacting Green Mountain Rifle Barrel. Unfortunately we do not make any take-down barrels. You might check with R & S Precision.

Thanks again and good luck,

so first, you would have to get them to make any TD barrels, then we could work on getting a HT barrel

Ok. Point taken. Maybe I could buy a HB Ruger TD barrel and send it to CPC to be turned on a lathe?

you may be able to do something like that, but it sounds like a spendy type option to me

I'll probably just end up with either a Ruger sporter or TI's version of the same
