The bedding button from Gunsmither is awesome

The rifle is a 75 vintage sportter that I did for my lovely daughter last winter; she happened to be born in that year as well

I've done three with this same method, all three shoot exceptionally well and all have been to Randy for a short stay

Where it all happens, my bedroom:

The rifle:

The front pad:

The rear end:

The button in back of receiver;

The finished bedding job:

Did you not use the recoil lug provided with the Gunsmither kit?

Didn't feel I really needed it...Just the buttons.

The lug seems like a good idea though.

The lug bedded properly prevents the receiver from shifting back and forth in the stock.

My figuring ....was the dimple on the frt. of the receiver would be adequate to
lock it up there, the back end is awesome with the button for control there..the lug just seemed a little overkill as with medal pillars...the bbl.retainer doesn't touch wood.

Anyways...I couldn't be happier with the results of the three that I have done this way..exceptional shooters

When I got them back from Randy I fitted them in their stocks and gave them a try...It was alright but nothing compared with the results after the bed job

Here they are:
