hey folks - i'm just a plinker and new to 10/22s, but have developed a fondness for the Takedown and the Charger Takedown in particular... my needs are simple, but I wanted a bit lighter barrel with a silver color a bonus...

so i went with a WhistlePig 10" Acculite:

the thing is: not too many folks seem to make Takedown barrels (extra machining?), especially shorter ones (6", 10", 12")... i'm pretty happy with the results, as i'm only going out to 25 yards:

Good looking pistol. The Charger really looks good when made over to a rifle with similar stocks. The PMACA offering also has some really eye catching stuff. So many options, so little time (and money). Would like to do one with a Feddersen 16.25 barrel. I can always dream. ......... AH

Proof Research 10/22 barrels

Proof Research 10/22 Barrels. Yep, I've been on the phone again. I did talk to a secretary, and told me that they are made in-house, and do not come with a thread protector other that a plastic protector for shipping. I really need to call back and talk to Nathan, the tech guy. He was out of pocket, I will call back at a later date. Will hope to find out about accuracy guarantee, and process for bore rifling, type of steel, etc. For sure they make carbon fiber barrels, will also ask about stainless. The person I talked to wasn't aware of any dealing with PWS, but will find out for sure when I can talk to the tech. 10/22 barrels currently advertised at Stocky's:

https://www.stockysstocks.com/barrel...ompatible.html

Website for Proof Research:

https://www.proofresearch.com/the-products/barrels/

I will add to this as information becomes available....... AH

I called and verified that they do not come with a thread protector. Given the price of the barrel, I'm a bit disappointed.

any replacements that match the factory taper and have sights installed? I'm interested in something for a 10/22 RSI or International/Mannlicher style I'm putting together

Butch's Gunwerks

Does anyone know anything about the Carbon tensioned barrels on ebay sold by Butch's Gunwerks? They come in different colors, and I want to build a purple rifle for my 7 year old daughter. Thank you!

Nope. Need link. Not on Google, then tried searching Ebay for Butch's Gunwerks, I couldn't find them. Perhaps my "Google - foo" isn't working today. Post a link and I will put the dogs on it.

Didn't show an accuracy guarantee, built in his gun shop, and is .875 diameter, not the usual .920 diameter offered by other reputable 10/22 bull barrel mfgs. For the money involved, perhaps you should shop around before you make a decision. ...... AH

Glad we could help. I updated the info last month, and haven't done a search as of yet for new / different 10/22 barrels available at this time. That is next on the bucket list. If you have found a new offering, post in this thread and I will make a call and try to get some information. ....... Thanks...... AH
