For me at least, hard to say how the mods affect value.

What you have is a modified Colt SERVICE MODEL ACE, not a Ace, as they are two very different pistols. The one pictured has a host of aftermarket parts installed. I'm not sure what prompted the person who customized this to add so many aftermarket parts because these pistols were never capable of bullseye quality accuracy in the first place. Did you get any of the take off parts? I follow these and also follow Colt .22 Conversion Units on the big auction sites and if it was all original it would be in the $1500-$2000 range. Substantially less in its current configuration.

As far as "what's it worth?" kinda best to start with what you paid since you "recently acquired" it. Otherwise nothing to add to the above.

I had one of these in the late '70s. I read that they are very collectible in original condition. 824tsv is right; mine was woefully in accurate so I sold it to buy a Colt MKIV Govt. Model .45 ACP. I guess that was because of the floating chamber. Whoever modified the gun badically ruined the collector value.
