The tool required one revision and works perfectly.

The magazine holding base--which is not really needed--is on the second version too. I lower the retaining walls, rounded the base corners, increased the magazine well size a little and added a wrench holder.

I didn't print the magazine, I printed the maintenance set.

3D printers use .stl files which is an "export" option on a lot of CAD programs.

A lot of things look great on paper, then you start to get experience using them and it becomes apparent that there is room for improvement.

I would like to preface this by saying that I just upgraded my 3D printer software and am printing with the defaults which one quickly learns are lacking. The parts can be much more refined but it will take more time than I have right now to tune the settings to my printer and filament. This works fine for prototyping.

Version 4. After assembling and disassembling with the tool, I wanted a port to see exactly how the nut was aligned with the hex well on the magazine. The port also serves as an alignment/timing reference point on the tool, you know where you are during the tensioning process. Since I was going to eliminate one of the hex tool's walls, I added 1mm to the OD and angled the port wall back to enhance the view. I'm much happier with this version.

Use the video link below to see the tool in use.

Although I don't see much interest in 3D printing on this site, this tool's most current version is available to download on thingiverse:
