Volquartsen is the best. I did own a Rem 597 HB that shot very good. I sold it because it wouldn't chamber CCI TNT. Ran everything else without issue. Problem with the CZ is the heavy trigger.

I own a Magnum Research Mag Lite with carbon barrel. I've radiused the bolt, VQ extractor, & firing pin, tuff buffer, & installed a VQ TG2000 trigger group.

It's an AWESOME rifle which shoots 1MOA with CCI 40g. She's worth every penny I paid for it!

I'd rather have Volquartsen than anything else.

I believe that Magnum Research is on record as stating that 45 gr ammo is required for reliable operation, mine did not work well at all, a few spectacular 'early' ejections-I was very very lucky.

Customer service made me 1000% satisfied, great Company.

john, glad to learn that yours is making up for the one I had-I could count on a few failures, most often to eject with each mag using cci 'choot em'. If I am able to find a Volquartsen Classic with a plain wood stock I probably would roll the dice but the only way to be assured of reliability with the wmr seems to be with a bolt which in view of the cost of ammo is probably the way to go...

These are my two recommendations.

I have used a 922M to kill a lot of critters.

A friend of mine who farms for a living and spend 14-16 hours a day on his property has a Marlin Research lite 22 Mag with a Leupold scope on it and it lives on his Polaris Ranger. He’s killed everything from armadillos to full grown steers with it. He only shoots Winchester silver box 40 grain HP and it will do 1.5” consistently at 100. His dad has the same rifle with an Eotech on it and it has lived the same life.

If I were buying new, it would be a MR Lite and if not that a CZ 512 American.

LOVE my MR Like: very accurate to 100 yds, as far as I can shoot: grandkids are arguing over who gets it!!

A priest, an inman, a baptist preacher and a rabbit go into a bar. The bartender asks the rabbit why are you here? The rabbit replies "autocorrect"...
