I recently bought a 52C standard barrel made in 1956. I have a question about the Lyman rear sight that came on it. I don't see a letter designation on the sight. It mounts on the left side with two screws. One is visible and the other is under the elevation slide. Could anyone tell me the number and letter of this sight? Thanks.

It could be one of many sights offered for the M52C. Need some pics. Big Larry

I did some searching and looked up lyman 48 sights. Found a site with a 48 brochure. It describes a 48F and FH that attaches with 2 screws only on late 52C's without cutting the stock. It sounds like my sight could be one of those. Thanks.

Sight should be marked on rear surface of body with model number. The 48F was used typically on the Sporter models, while the 48FH was listed for Target rifles. Check back side, and see if it is not there.

Thanks. I am not home right now but I will check. My Mom has been in the hospital for several days and I have been taking care of her. She should be home in 2 to 3 days and I can check the sight next week.
