What was I thinking?

I decided to sell my BSA International MKIII. Dug it out of the back of the safe, got reacquainted, then I had to shoot it out back.
Browsed through some of the history and all again so I could intelligently talk about it.
Went and shot it some more.
Then I shot it again today.
What was I thinking? This is magnificent!

I looked but couldnt find it anywhere, but it sticks in my memory (such as it is, now) that only about 1200 of the Int.MkIIIs were made.
Anyone able to verify or correct that?
I used to be able to shoot deer flies pretty regularly at 50yd off the bench on my back deck with it and a 20X AO scope. A nice morning diversion before 10am when the winds tended to start. Been some years since that and my glaucoma has taken a toll. I fear I can no longer shoot it to it's potential.

Some of the boys here are tooling up for some PLR shooting this year; ie, 50, 100, 200, 300 and 400 yard steel. Good glass will be a must and I think the EGW 30moa base for my old Tasco 20X AO scope might make it. The MkIII prone stock should be good too though for our match any position will be allowed (most of us are over 60, some, comfort matters, this is supposed to be fun).
Anybody think this will or wont work?

Hi

I shoot out to 400yd with my Haenel KK and have also used my 12/15. so I will make the comment that from a 25yd zero you need aprox 80 mins of elevation to make the 400 as I do not know what your set up can do just a heads up if you were not aware.

Good shooting TJ.

80 is what Ive been figuring also for SV from some charts, etc.
I know there isnt a lot of diff between a 25 and a 50yd -0- (mine) as a starting point and I dont want to be getting totally to the extreme end of adj. inside the scope.
I just did the 'count' on my old Tasco 20x, Ive got more windage available than elev, that seems odd, but a fair 66moa total elev so I figure 30moa up/down from center.
Guess I have to mount it up and find out where my 50yd -0- is in the range to calc anything meaningful for what I need for up. I wouldnt mind having the 50yd -0- be at, say 15 down from center thus leaving me 45 up available (if Ive got this right?).

Took me a couple of years to find a good one, it will be one of the last to leave until I do. Can't really do justice with peeps anymore (old eyes) but with the Lyman 20X Supertarget spot I can still shoot with most folks.

Does your lyman have a single cross hair or lines all the way? Not sure what the hash marks are called. My JrTS has them and makes long range a lot easier.
