Does anybody know where I could pick up a magazine for a Toz 17? I saw a used rifle at a local shop but it didn't have a magazine.

Thanks

Vintage RU Magazine Source

Magazines for vintage Russian firearms are very difficult to locate.
The following thread has a few suggested sources.
Sources for Contemporary or Vintage Russian Firearm Magazines ??? aom22
A word of caution.
Before you buy a firearm ... be sure you have a verified source for magazines.
If you find a place that sells vintage RU magazines ... please let us know.

For me, the lack of a known source for replacement parts and magazines has been
_ the major deterent not buy a CDNN: TOZ-122 Bolt Action Rifle.

mags in the EU

Hi, I recently bought a magazine from this place www.defendor.eu - their business practice was bizarre with me having to do a bank transfer and I was rather prepared to lose my money, but lo and behold 4-6 weeks after I ordered, a perfect toz 17 magazine turned up, just what I needed....

These in Australia may work out cheaper - http://w.gcshooters.com.au/accessories/magazines/

There are also Marlin mags that can be modified to work, as well as Sportco ones.
I imagine Sportco mags would be harder to find than Toz 17 ones in the USA/ Canada.

It is worth noting that not all original Toz 17 magazines are interchangeable, they were hand fitted to each rifle.
