If its the one I saw it looked rough.

I couldn't tell how bad it was by the pictures.

Cylinder looked rough and possible pitting.

Did you look at it in person and pass on it?

I see the ad is gone

I bought one recently.

I really donít need another one, but it sat there calling my name for over a month.

The LGS reduced the price, and in a moment of weakness I bought it.

You canít go wrong with one if you get one in decent condition.

ďMoment of weaknessĒ? Any time you can pick up a decent model 17 for a fair price is a moment of intelligence! Good used K22s just donít show up for sale around here very often. Folks that have them tend to hang on to them. If I found a good one locally at a decent price, I would not hesitate to buy another one. The older ones will do nothing but escalate in value.

Always good to buy a Model 17 if the price is reasonable and the condition good.

You guys talking about a reasonable price on a 17. So what is a reasonable price?

I decided not to buy it due to the condition. I pulled the info out of my original thread. He must have sold it though. It was probably used in a suicide and had poor finish. $385.

Kinda why I didn't call on it, I don't mind honest blueing lose.

That looked like abuse, or could have very well been blood
that lifted the blueing off the cylinder.

Seem like they have been running around 500.00 to 850.00+
for the ones I seen lately. (K22-17)

Seen a couple of model 18 lately too.

I had my chance to buy them back when they where
cheaper, 15 or more years ago.

550.00 to 650.00 might be a reasonable price now?

I paid $525, plus tax, for a like new one.

I didnít need one, but it doesnít appear to have been fired since leaving the factory. Someone did spin the cylinder, but not much.

I donít think I will lose money on it.

Suicide guns are bad Juju. A buddy of mine took care of the estate of a young man that killed himself with a Colt Dragoon cap and ball revolver. He hacksawed it into pieces and threw it in the trash. I believe I would have done the same.

Iíve seen plenty of suicide guns, especially when I was assigned to the Property and Evidence room as a supervisor. Blood on blueing has a distinct effect. This gun had that.
