Wonder how much they are saving in production costs without the band?
Imagine the wave of interest in an M-1'ish looking .22 carbine is over......

with the curved plate and no handguard, I always thought they looked more trapdoor/old west than M1

Kind of looks like a synthetic recreation of the old carbine stocks.

Wow, just when you thought tail fins and huge chrome bumpers on cars might make a comeback...

Yes, it looks like the 100 anniversary model. Except for the color.

It might have a spring from a Bic pen in it to absorb the recoil

From what I heard (and take that with a grain of salt) was that this color and another were a special run for a company that rhymes with "Sicks" and they didn't take them but sent them all to a large dealer to liquidate.

Again that's strictly a rumor (But I like the fact they put sling swivel mounts on them.)

No sights, a scope rail with a stock that discourages scope use looks like another Ruger attempt at selling an abortion looking for a place to take happen to me. It's almost like they are getting rid of excess inventory. The uninformed will buy it because it is tan and cheap. Ruger may have to regroup when Walmart stops selling them.
