I don't know if that could even be done, but if so it would be so expensive it wouldn't make sense.

There are so few after market barrels for the Take Down rifle, that is why I was asking.

It should be easily doable by a good machinist/gunsmith. Only problem, and it could be a big one, is the heat treatment of the breech end of a standard barrel may not be hard enough to withstand the pounding it will take when reduced in diameter to fit a takedown receiver.

Early production takedown barrels apparently were fairly soft, and some of them got peened over a bit on the breech end, making it hard, or near impossible to remove.

I'd suggest you contact Randy at - http://www.ct-precision.com .

He is - "The 10/22 Barrel Guru'' , and may very well be able to help you.

Best of luck with your quest! Joe

I dont know what your project is but ATI has a QBD stock that turns a standard carbine into a take down. LOP is on the short side. Works pretty well.

That's an expensive barrel to put on a TD. There are quite a few options available now as opposed to a couple years ago. VQ, WhistlePig, TacSol, etc. If it were me (and if you don't have something else you can use that barrel for) I would sell it and use the $ towards one that is already made for the TD. Also I'm not 100% on this but I think if someone were to machine the barrel for the TD they would need to start with a blank.
