They are fun but finicky pistols. If you use the wrong type of bullet, your fun will be cut short and it won't be fun cleaning the floating chamber afterwards. Plated HV bullets are your friend but I find it still fouls things up pretty quickly. I generally stop at 100 rounds for making cleaning easier. Still lots of fun. Nice pistol, thanks for sharing.

I can usually get 200 Mini Mags through mine before it needs cleaning. Enough to shoot a 22 Steel Match.

We shot the Colt Ace pistols in Navy Boot Camp in 1993. I enjoyed them!

Very nice. They are very cool pistols. It's one of my favourites. I also clean it after about 100 rounds. That channel in the floating chamber really likes to collect the carbon. But, keep it clean and it runs. I've had no issues using CCI standard velocity.

This one eats almost everything.
Always goes bang
Had an issue once with that cheap green box crap from Russia/Sportsmen Guide And a few funky shaped HP high velocity ones.
I had bought a colt conversion kit back when shortly after I bought ny Colt 1911
The conversion kit from Colt sucked-- Jam o matic
Great dealer took it back and ordered this ACE '80-'81 IIRC for me
Dead reliable and we've run more bricks than I can remember thru it.

I have a Colt Conversion. It's been very reliable. But, there's bound to be a dud now and then. From what I can tell the Ace and the Conversion's are nearly identical, functionally the same, except for the roll mark.
