Spare Mk III barrel please

Is it possible that any of you would have an original Mk. III barrel in your inventory of take-offs and spare parts?

You bid on it, didn't you? I was considering but since I'm about to take delivery of my first MK II, think I'll pass.
Good luck on your bid, hope no one runs it up!

Yup and kind of sorry I did. Its still "almost" worth it for just having the parts.

My problem is I work in a machine shop and have access to machine tools. I have re barreled several with good results. Shouldn't be too much trouble to turn a straight section, cut a chamber and clear for the extractor. With my luck the barrel retaining bolts would be stripped.

I have refinished Mk III's before and taking the cross-bolts out can be a pain. On one I had to use a cheater bar and STAND on it. You really only need to take out the forward bolt to remove the aluminum free-float forearm support, but both bolts for barreling.

The indexing of the barrel and support have to be precise afterward.

Couldn't find anything near that maker on barrels. Can you be more specific?

Pssst. I have been outbid! Yea. Nice stock and sight though. That makes some redeeming value.

Yup, and a barrel would make for a nice rifle. I went back and looked at the bids on the one I just bought and guess what? You bid on it!

This is my first BSA International, what a brute! Makes my 40X feel like a Sporter! It's even heavier than my Garand!
The stock has been cut, guessing for a junior shooter, and somewhat re-attached. Two heavy duty wood screws thru the buttplate, stock section, and into the stock. I'm thinking of epoxy and a couple of wooden dowels when I re-finish the stock. I could make an aluminum spacer to make up the distance with one of those adjustable buttplates. Don't need it for the shooting that I do. What sort of upgrades are appropriate on one of these old girls? I have an older Leupold BR-24 scope tagged for this restomod.

Watch this forum and see the scope options. I do like that iris on the sight. Clean it up and go from there. On a rare occasion, you may find another stock that isn't cut.
